How to connect your fitness tracker to Amissa
Last updated: March 25, 2026
Amissa reads health data from your fitness tracker or other device through Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android. Connect your device to the right health platform first, then make sure Amissa has permission to read your data.
Before you start
We recommend updating your phone's operating system, your device's companion app, and the Amissa app to the latest versions.
Make sure your fitness tracker is paired and syncing data to its companion app.
iPhone setup: Apple Health
Turn on Amissa permissions
Open the Health app on your iPhone.
Tap your profile icon in the top right.
Tap Apps, then tap Amissa.
Turn on the data types you want Amissa to read — sleep, heart rate, steps, temperature, and others.
Apple Watch
Apple Watch syncs to Apple Health automatically. Just confirm your health categories are enabled under Health → Profile → Devices → Apple Watch, then open Amissa to verify data appears.
Oura Ring
In the Oura app, go to Settings and turn on Apple Health sharing.
In the Health app, check Apps → Oura to confirm the categories you want are enabled.
Open Amissa to confirm data appears.
Garmin
In Garmin Connect, go to Settings and turn on Apple Health sharing.
In the Health app, check Apps → Garmin Connect to confirm permissions.
Open Amissa to confirm data appears.
WHOOP
In the WHOOP app, go to Settings → Data sharing → Apple Health.
Turn on Apple Health integration and allow WHOOP to write heart rate, sleep, recovery, strain, and HRV data.
In the Health app, check Apps → WHOOP to confirm permissions.
Open Amissa to confirm data appears.
Fitbit (iPhone)
Fitbit doesn't sync directly with Apple Health. You'll need a third-party bridging app to get Fitbit data into Apple Health. Once the data appears in Apple Health, Amissa will be able to import it.
We've tried a number of them with varying success. Many of them are paid apps. Currently we're unable to make specific recommendations on these third-party apps.
Android setup: Health Connect
Turn on Amissa permissions
Open Settings on your Android phone.
Search for Health Connect and open it.
Make sure both your device's app and Amissa have permissions to read and write health data.
Samsung Galaxy Watch
In Samsung Health, make sure your watch is syncing data.
Go to Samsung Health settings and enable sharing with Health Connect.
Open Amissa to confirm data appears.
Oura, Garmin, WHOOP, or Fitbit (Android)
Open your device's companion app and confirm it's syncing data.
In the companion app's settings, enable sharing with Health Connect.
In Health Connect, confirm both the device app and Amissa have the right permissions.
Open Amissa to confirm data appears.
How long does it take?
After connecting, data from your fitness tracker usually appears in Amissa within a few minutes. If nothing shows up after 15 minutes, see our article My fitness tracker data isn't showing up in Amissa for troubleshooting steps.
